TOUGH economic conditions have forced the organisers of Wellington Food Town, one of the biggest draws in the town's calendar, to pull the plug on the event.

The recession has seen just four businesses express an interest in Wellington's premier food event, which was due to take place on December 5.

Now, the organisers are to canvass retailers, shoppers, residents and businesses for their views on want from the Food Town.
