FREE music exploration, songwriting and recording sessions for people with no previous musical experience, experienced musicians and keen writers are set to be offered in Wiveliscombe.

The aim is for groups to work together to produce songs although individuals will have the chance to work on their own pieces with group support.

Fodo Higginson and Nigel Neill, both experienced community music facilitators, will lead the sessions and lots of different instruments will be provided.

The course may be of interest to anyone seeking to improve confidence, is feeling isolated, who wants to get back into learning or work, or is looking for a creative outlet.

Fodo said: “Feeling valued and encouraged to bring your own skills forward can be life-changing.”

The four-week course runs at The Silver Street Centre, Wiveliscombe, on Tuesdays January 31, February 7, 21 and 28 from 10.30am-2.30pm.

Participants must be over 19 and live in Somerset. Wiveliscombe Area Partnership has secured funding from Somerset Skills and Learning to offer these sessions free of charge to participants. Booking is essential and places are limited.
