A FREE parking scheme proposed for Wellington to boost trade in the town has got the support of Taunton Deane MP Jeremy Browne.
The idea for free parking after 3.30pm in the three Taunton Deane Borough Council-run public car parks in North Street, South Street and Longforth Road was put forward earlier this month by South Street shop owner Sally Hooper, who felt 'Free from Three' parking would increase business and footfall.
Backing the plan, Mr Browne said yesterday: "This is an imaginative new idea to help Wellington's independent shops and it needs the wholehearted support of the whole community."
