VISITORS flocked to Coldharbour Mill for another of its popular steam days on Spring Bank Holiday Monday.
Volunteers got to light the boilers and run the mill by steam – and among the engines running were the Brotherhood Beam Engine and the rare Polite and Wigzell mill engine.
The Culm, an acoustic four-piece band, entertained visitors in the courtyard, while for children’s half-term, Flotsam the Fool’s Circus Workshop gave children – and adults – the chance to try tightrope walking, juggling and other circus skills. The artistic Celestae’s Fantasy Faces offered face painting.
The mill’s cafe and shop, and a barbecue, again run by hard-working volunteers, also attracted lots of customers.
The next steam day is Bank Holiday Monday, August 28.
