FAMILIES from the Wellington area visited a local Christmas tree farm as part of Open Farm Sunday.

Langford Lakes at Middle Hill Farm in Langford Budville was taking part in the event, the farming industry’s national open day, for the first time.

Owner Reg Hendy said: “Our Open Farm Sunday event was a great success with about 85 people visiting.

“We invited people to come along and walk the Christmas tree plantations and see the trees mid-growth when they are a pale green colour. Visitors could also stroll through our woods and bring a picnic to enjoy by our lakes.

“Light refreshments were available in aid of Children’s Hospice South West and our team was on hand to answer any questions people had during the day.”

Langford Lakes Christmas Tree Farm is a family-run business close to the nature reserve Langford Heathfield, a mile outside Langford Budville.

The farm is owned and run by Reg and his wife Ann and their two sons, Shaun and Nick. The family has been growing and selling Christmas trees for more than 20 years.
