THE junior girls badminton team at Kingsmead School in Wiveliscombe have become county champions after competing in the Somerset Schools C­ounty Finals at Strode College in Street.

The team won 13 of their 15 games competing against Bishop Fox’s of Taunton, Sexey’s of Bruton and Frome College.

They will now represent the county in the regional games which take place in Bournemouth on Wednesday, March 1.

The team, coached by Mrs Hake, pictured (from left) are: Meg Mardon, Ella Varney, Amber Totterdell and Josie Bryan.
