Golfers returned to action on Wednesday at Oake Manor Golf Club as coronavirus lockdown restrictions began to be lifted.
Among the happiest of them was Paul Rich who bagged a hole in one on the 14th hole after a near two-month lay-off.
New rules have come into play at the 700-member club and no competitions will be held. Players are able to play as a one-ball – on their own – or with members of their household, or one other golfer who is not from their household.
Members must adhere to the following: Tee times must be booked online or by phoning the Pro Shop on 01823 461993. The first tee time is 7.30am and the last 6pm each day.
Tee times can be booked seven days in advance. Golfers can book a tee time and play with either members of their household or one other person not in their household (making a two-ball). Members are only be able to book tee times in accordance with their membership categories, as normal. A member’s guest is permitted and pays the appropriate green fee – £25. Golfers should not go to the golf club unless they have a tee timed booked.
Before the round: Players should not arrive more than 15 minutes before their booked tee time and shoes must be changed in the car park. Golfers should make their way to the Pro Shop to check in via the pathway that runs around the clubhouse. A one-way system to the first tee is in operation and signposted. The clubhouse and changing rooms are closed but the toilets in the clubhouse are open.
Golfers must check in with the Pro Shop before playing and keep two metres distance when waiting at the first tee. Signage guides players. Priority is given to the next person due to tee off on the practice putting green. The driving range is closed.
All vending machines are out of use, so players should take their own drink to keep hydrated while playing. All bins, ball washers, bunker rakes and benches have been removed from the course. Golfers should take their rubbish home with them.
Rental trolleys and buggies are available for hire. Buggies must be booked in advance. Personal buggies are allowed.
