New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Somerset’s pubs, bars or nightclubs, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them both.

Bird in Hand, at 48-50 Bristol Road, Bridgwater was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on May 10.

And Watchfield Inn, at Watchfield was also given a score of five on May 5.

It means that of Somerset's 624 pubs, bars and nightclubs with ratings, 484 (78%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
