Staff and residents at Nynehead Court are celebrating after the home was rated ‘Good’ in all areas by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
CQC inspectors visited the home last month and looked at many aspects of the care provided, from how the home manages medication and keeps records, through to the food it provides and the activities it offers to residents.
The report said residents received care and support from kind and caring staff; had choice over the way they led their lives; and that a range of social activities was available at the home and in the wider community.
During their visit, the inspectors also spoke to staff, residents, family members and visiting professionals to obtain their views. Some of the comments in the report included: “Staff are very kind – without exception; very attentive”. The home was also complimented on the way it creates spaces for people’s individual hobbies.
Nynehead Court manager Angela Watkins said: “Our CQC rating of ‘Good’ reflects the hard work which has been done by our staff team, and we are delighted to receive it.
“Knowing that a home has been judged as ‘Good’ gives residents and their families a great deal of reassurance that they or their loved ones are being well looked after.”
Nynehead Court is set in 13 acres of parkland and offers retirement living for older people requiring residential care or close care housing.
