THE Paddocks Nursery and Pre-School in Wiveliscombe is delighted with a recent Ofsted report in which it achieved a ‘Good’ grading.

Inspectors praised a raft of activities and facilities on offer to youngsters. The nursery was praised for knowing the children well, strong teaching and successful management.

The inspectors said: “Staff are warm and caring and form secure attachments with them. Children learn to manage their behaviour because staff are good role models.

“Resources are good and there is an exciting and stimulating outside area, which children enjoy immensely.

“Practicioners know the children well and provision for special educational needs is strong. As a result, outcomes for children are good and they are well prepared for the next stage of their education.”

Nursery deputy manager Anna Gaden welcomed the rating and said staff, parents and pupils had made a real team effort.

“We are all so proud of how the team has come together,” she said. “There’s been a lot going on over the past couple of years – we have changed hands and the primary school in Wiveliscombe has taken us over.

“We are so pleased with our result and we have many good times to come.”
