Christmas lights look set to illuminate Rockwell Green for the first time in years this festive season.
At the latest meeting of Wellington Town Council town clerk Kathryn Hemensley said the council had in principle approval from four venues to host the lights.
The clerk told councillors a new lighting scheme had been ordered and work to replace faulty fittings would be requested shortly.
Somerset West and Taunton Council had said it owned five of the 13 connection points in Wellington and it was expected SWT would repair its fittings so that the lights would function properly.

Cllr Nancy Powell-Brace said she was concerned that townsfolk did not realise the town was having Christmas lights this year but not staging its usual lights switch-on event.
She said: “Tens of people have asked me, as a councillor, why we are not having Christmas lights this year. We’re having new lights, different to the last three years.”
