PRIMARY school children aged six to ten are being given the chance to take part in a six-week course for beginner gymnasts in Wellington.
Excelsior Athletic Development Club will run the course at Court Fields school on Wednesday from 4.30-5.30pm. It will include movement on and off apparatus, body control and safe landing and rolling techniques.
Head coach James Marshall said: “Gymnastics is one of the best ways for young people to discover new ways of moving. Many of the boys find it useful when going to play other sports like rugby.”
Excelsior ADC is one of the few gymnastics clubs that has more boys than girls. It has also started an adult gymnastics class which is proving popular with parents.
Parents of interested boys and girls can contact James on [email protected] to book a place.
