STAWLEY Rural Community Initiative has received Lottery funding of £7,315 to purchase, install and maintain three defibrillators.

They will be sited at the village halls at Ashbrittle and Bathealton, and New House Farm, Kittisford, and it is hoped will be available to use later this month.

Awareness sessions, run by Community Heartbeat Trust (CHT), which is supplying the equipment, will be arranged in each of the three villages for residents to attend.

A Village Emergency Telephone

System will be set up in each village for anyone requiring help to access a defibrillator or in the event of an emergency.

Volunteers from the community are required and details of how the system works will be given at the CHT awareness sessions. First aid training is not required, just common sense and a willingness to help others.

Prospective volunteers should contact Judy Webb – phone 01823 673324 or email [email protected]
