The Wellington Basins Voluntary Group (WBVG) was pleased to launch a new duck house for the Basins area last week as a memorial to Bob Bowrah, former Mayor of Wellington and a great supporter of local community groups.

In particular, Bob supported SSAFA Somerset and the WBVG. He was a keen fisherman and loved the Basins area.

WBVG agreed that a duck house for the Basins would be a fitting tribute to Bob and would enhance the area.

Liz Bowrah watched the launch ceremony in which John Andrews and Steve Saunders rowed the house to the centre of the of the pond and secured it there.

n WBVG has decided that this would be the last meeting for a while following Government health advice on Coronavirus. It was decided that the planned duck race planned for Saturday, April 25, would be cancelled.
