PLANNING permission is being sought for seven homes and ten flats when Mount Vets in Wellington moves out of the High Street later this year.

The veterinary hospital, which employs about 45 people and treats tens of thousands of animals a year, is moving to new premises being built near Cades Farm.

The new hospital will be sited on about 1.75 acres of land and the building will have separate entrances and areas inside for the farm and small animal parts of the practice.

Planners are being asked to agree to seven dwellings with car parking and associated works in the car park of The Mount, 21 High Street, Wellington, plus the conversion and change of use of the practice into ten flats.

It is hoped that vets will be working from the new hospital by the end of the year, possibly as early as October.
