GREY skies and a chilly wind failed to deter visitors to the eighth May Day Fete in Wellington Park on Monday, which has been hailed as a success by the organisers.

Iris Ellins, secretary of the Friends of Wellington Park, the organisation behind the event, told the WWN: "We are delighted with the turnout. The afternoon was a great success."
