DOZENS of people of all ages turned out for the annual Ford Street party held as usual at Peterhayes.
The farmyard gives ample space for tables and shelter if required – it drizzled at one point but did not rain.
Neil Dalton from Wellington Without Parish Council introduced the day and explained the absence of octogenarian Katharine Butler, who had fallen recently in town breaking her leg.
A wonderful spread of food was on offer for about 50 visitors thanks largely to Heather Proctor, who once worked at the Merry Harriers pub.
A raffle had drinks with different strengths of alcohol as prizes, along with one or two booby prizes – the man who received the face cream put on a brave smile!
