WORK is set to start in the spring on building up to 650 homes at Jurston Farm in Wellington.
The first phase of new homes being built by C G Fry will see anything between 150 and 300 homes being constructed consisting of two-, three- and four-bedroom houses ‘offering homes to suit all needs’.
The plan is to build 40 to 50 homes every year over 12 to 13 years. The scheme also includes a primary school, equipped and informal public open space, community woodland and centre for community and commercial uses.
A roundabout will be constructed near the junction of West Buckland Road and Jurston Lane on the south of the site, which will be the main access.

The Jurston site will be the second to start up in the town in recent months. Heritage Mill at Tonedale is under way with the construction of more than 80 homes.
It is estimated that more than 2,000 new houses will have been built in the Wellington area once these two sites are completed, providing housing for 5,000 people.
