WELLINGTON Operatic Society is busy transforming two of its leading men into leading ladies.
Many people will know the wonderful film Some Like it Hot in which Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis transform themselves into members of a 1929 all-girl band to outwit the gangsters involved in the Valentine’s Day Massacre.
Ian Oliver and Leon Searle are preparing for their roles as Daphne and Josephine in Sugar, the stage musical version of the film, by first collecting a woman’s wardrobe and then having their legs waxed. Deportment and make-up lessons are set to follow.
The cast and crew have been raising sponsorship for the leg waxing and all proceeds will go to St Margaret’s Hospice. Thus far they are on target to raise £1,000.
