Remembrance Sunday will be marked this weekend with a small wreath-laying service for invitees only at the war memorial in Wellington Park.

Members of the public are asked not to attend the event on Sunday (November 8) at 2pm because of the Government’s Covid-19 lockdown.

The ceremony will be live-streamed, via Wellington Town Council’s Facebook page.

Organisations which wish to lay a wreath at the memorial are asked to do so after 3pm on Sunday and that only one person from each organisation attends.

Wellington residents are asked to show their respects during the two-minute silence on Wednesday (November 11) by standing outside their homes at 11am.
