I am looking forward to Lidl opening in our town. Right now I buy a lot of my goods in town but I do my main shop each week in Aldi, Cullompton.

It would save me a lot of petrol costs having this discount store in town.

I understand the fear it would take a lot of custom away from Wellington but I believe it would balance out. People may use Lidl for some items but they are not going to find everything they want.

In this case they are unlikely to travel to Taunton/Tiverton/Cullompton for just a few items. This is where the town will keep its custom, along with its loyal customer base.

The shop would also create jobs for locals, so more money to spend in town.

I say ‘bring it on’. Let’s welcome Lidl to our town, as we have welcomed Asda and Waitrose.
