A defibrillator and cabinet is now mounted on the wall of the Football Club in North Street car park after a year of fundraising on behalf of Wellington and District Sports Federation.

The machine is attached to the club’s outer wall, next to the entrance door, and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Mike Bull and Paul Kitto have contributed towards costs, Wellington Town Council and Taunton Deane have given grants, and Wellington Football Club has provided help.

Another defibrillator is sited in Longforth Road, in the event of an emergency.

“If it saves just one life it will be worth it,” said sports federation chairman Steve Coles.
