Litter surrounds a picnic table at the new play area at Cades Farm on the edge of Wellington.

One father, who lives in Aspin Close but did not want to be named, said the play area where he takes his three-year-old child had only been open a month.

He said: “There’s litter everywhere and the picnic table has been defaced. The mess puts the community to shame.”
