GO AHEAD parishioners in Sampford Arundel have rolled up their sleeves to spruce up the gateway to their village to mark the Queen's diamond jubilee.

An area of neglected land next to the railway is being cleared, and a CCTV camera has been installed nearby to deter fly tippers.

A large grass verge opposite the Beambridge Inn is also being tidied up.
