Residents on the Longforth View development in Wellington hope their annual Christmas window advent trail spread a little festive joy this season.

In a countdown to Christmas, from the first day of the month until Christmas Eve, a new festive window was revealed at one of the houses on the Bloor Homes development. Kicking off the festivities was the company’s sales office itself.

Sara Parker, the regional sales director at Bloor Homes South-West, said: “After the year everyone has had, it was perhaps more important than ever to try and spread a little joy this Christmas.

“Clearly, Christmas for everyone is going to look a little different this year, that’s why we were so keen to get involved and celebrate the festive season with our wonderful community at Longforth View.

“And with the Christmas window trail, we were able to do this in a Covid-safe way, while sharing in the Christmas spirit with everyone.”

Longforth View resident Tess Scott-Baxendale said: “The Christmas window is an annual event at the development and has always been very popular and well supported, as it brings the community together.

“Thanks to Bloor Homes, we printed off little maps of the development for the children living here – and adults, of course – to follow to find the lights and tick off as they spotted them.

“The map was also shared to the wider public through Facebook, so we saw more visitors this year than ever.

“We also hoped to use the Christmas window event to raise vital funds for local charities, such as Shelter, which has been hit hard by the pandemic.”
