POLICE have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder after another man was stabbed in the neck during an altercation in a Wellington side street.

Police say they are investigating the fracas which took place in Howard Road at around 4am on Saturday.

Criminal damage was caused to a caravan parked on the edge of Howard Road green when a window was smashed.

The wounded man was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton for treatment.

A woman also received a head injury sustained when the caravan window was damaged.

Three people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
