CINEMA Obscura is screening a long lost movie classic as a Christmas treat at Wiveliscombe Primary School New Hall on Sunday, December 11.

The black comedy A New Leaf (PG) stars Walter Matthau and Elaine May stars and directs. Henry Graham (Matthau) lives a full life of a rich playboy. When his lawyer tells him his lifestyle has consumed all his money he is urged by his English butler to avoid climbing down the social ladder.

Henry plots to marry a rich woman and then murder her – and that’s when he meets Henrietta (May), a shy botanist and rich heiress.

Two members of Wiveliscombe artisan market have been invited to the film evening, providing visitors with a good opportunity to buy Christmas gifts.

Doors open at 7pm and the film starts at 7.30pm – movie lovers are invited to go along early for teas/ coffee and light refreshments. Guest membership entrance is £5.
