A McDonald’s may soon be opening at Chelston, on the outskirts of Wellington.

The fast food giant has submitted a planning application for a new chain at Westpark 26, which is just off the M5. The proposed new restaurant would also include a Drive Thru.

Plans also include an outdoor climbing ‘play land,’ as well as its usual outside parking bays.

If the plans are successful, the new restaurant would bring more than 65 jobs to the area.

A McDonald’s spokesperson said: “We have submitted a planning application in relation to a new drive thru restaurant at Chelston.

“We are working closely with the developer and local authority to ensure our plans are appropriate for the area and, if our application is successful, the new restaurant will create at least 65 new jobs for local people.”
