American singer-songwriter Michelle Lewis is to play Cotleigh Brewery in Wiveliscombe on American Independence Day.

Many performers live for applause – Lewis just wants to make audiences cry. “There are sad songs and uplifting songs. But more sad songs,” she said. “For me, music is always more interesting the deeper you dig emotionally. My passion and my love is more centred in those sad, melancholy songs.”
