The managing director of Wellington firm Air-Seal Products has been drumming up trade in Mongolia.

Alex Burnand and sales representative Steve Jones visited mines in the South Gobi desert and took part in Mongolia Mining Expo 2019.

Steve said: “We hoped our product was met with interest – our aim was to look for a suitable distributor to represent Air-Seal Products in Mongolia.”

The pair arrived in Ulaanbaatar and then travelled by road and track to the Mongolian Mining Corporation Ukhaa Khudag mine, and then the TTJVCO mine at East Tsankhi.

The next stop was the Oyu Tolgoi mine in Khanbogd Sum, accompanied by British Consul General to Istanbul Judith Slater and British Ambassador to Mongolia Philip Malone.

After the Expo an evening gala was held at which Air-Seal Products won the Technology Award for its involvement in introducing advanced technology and innovation to the mining industry.

Air-Seal Products is a family run business at Greenham specialising in tyre sealant. Its products are used all over the world in HGVs, loading shovels, dump trucks and other heavy plant.

The UK Department for International Trade (DIT) hosted the trade mission to Mongolia.
