Children have the chance to decorate their own Wellington Monument as part of Nynehead Court’s summer fete next month.

The home’s fete is in aid of Wellington Monument and representatives from the National Trust are supporting the event.

Among the attractions at the fete on Saturday, June 29, is a competition for children to decorate their own cardboard monument.

The models are being handed out in schools and are also available from the WWN’s office and Nynehead Court.

Home manager Angela Watkins said: “Our garden fete is our main fundraising activity this year and our ‘Design the Monument’ competition will allow our younger generation to get creative while supporting a good cause. We can’t wait to see the entries.”
