Footpath volunteers who help maintain paths in the Wellington area have received a hedge trimmer to help speed up their work.

The volunteers give up a few hours a week to cut back and clear overgrown footpaths, which is appreciated by Wellington Town Council.

They are led by Tom Borg – pictured (right) with Jackie Marsh and Martin Cooper of Somerset County Council. Martin co-ordinates and supports volunteers, providing equipment and safety training on how to use it.

Somerset County Council’s Rights of Way team has received a lot of help from individuals giving their time volunteering to support its local Rights of Way network.
