Wellington Local History and Museum Society is looking for a replacement for its current, very old, laptop computer.
Its current machine is beginning to wear out – the fan is audible – and recently the internal connection to the screen broke meaning an external screen has to be used.
The laptop’s primary purpose is holding the curator’s search catalogue, which is essential in administering Wellington Museum’s several thousand objects.
The ideal replacement, for technical reasons, is a laptop that runs Windows XP. This is to ensure that the software on the current machine will run on the new one.
Anyone who can help should contact the society via [email protected] or phone 07971 242904 or 01823 666702.
