THE volume is being turned up at Wellington Library with free music sessions over the next few weeks.

It will be less a case of ‘quiet please’ than ‘bang that drum’ as beginners aged from primary school age to old age pensioners take part in drumkit and guitar sessions.

The guitar sessions invite anyone aged from eight to 90-plus to learn some chords, songs, use technology and showcase their musical skills. The sessions run on Monday and Wednesday, August 28 and 30, and Friday, September 1, from 3-4.30pm.

The drumkit sessions invite participants aged 11 and older to learn to play and understand the drum kit, entry level theory and sight reading. The sessions are on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, August 21, 23 and 25 from 3-4.30pm.

For more information on both the guitar and drumkit sessions, or to book a place, contact [email protected] or phone 01278 722100. Wellington Library is hosting the music sessions in collaboration with the Somerset Rural Youth Project.
