DRIVERS are being warned after dozens of nails were found scattered where Pyles Thorne Road and South Street in Wellington meet (pictured).

WWN reader Brian Magee, of Blackmoor Road, found about 90 new one-and-a-half inch nails in four locations in the area last Tuesday at about 11.30am.

He said: “The council should have a sign saying the area is for cars and pedestrians. Cars ignore the 20mph speed limit and there is no pavement for people on foot. A motorist could easily get a nail in a tyre and then go driving at high speed on the motorway.”
