A NEW McDonald’s fast food restaurant being built on the edge of Wellington is expected to be opened in January.

The 24-hour ‘drive-thru’ restaurant is under construction at Westpark 26, Chelston, opposite the Shell petrol station and Budgens convenience store. It will create 65 new flexible hours jobs for the town which equates to 45 full-time workers.

Town councillors were told of the tentative opening date when they toured the Westpark estate.
