FIREFIGHTERS rescued a man after he became stuck on the roof of his home in South Street in Wellington in the early hours.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service was called at 1.43am on Friday to the property and dispatched a crew from Wellington to help the man. He had put a ladder up to get into his home and became stuck after reaching the roof.

Firefighters helped him off the roof and he provided identification to prove it was his address.
