GROUPS in Oake have benefited from Sunshine Fund grants from New Rendy Solar Farm funds – and now more applications are invited.

Oake village hall requested a grant in 2016 for repairs to play equipment and was awarded £2,000 to help.

Oake Mini Day Centre, which supports about 14 elderly residents through regular sessions, received £500 to buy new equipment and run outings.

Oake church was awarded £750 towards the cost of having a large piece of trunk from a Cedar tree which fell in the churchyard two years ago carved into a sculpture.

The parent and toddler group, which meets in the main hall at Oake and District Hall for about an hour and a half most Tuesdays, was given £750 to buy replacement toys.

Oake and District Shop was awarded £2,000 towards general running costs.

Applications for funding must be received no later than Tuesday, October 31, for

consideration at November’s parish council meeting.
