THIS old Brighton and Hove Bus has given up moving passengers in Sussex to enjoy a new career with Wellington Stroke Club.
After some key alterations it is hoped it will become a familiar feature around the town for years to come, in addition to the club already using the ?WHERE? Bus, which is also vital to its needs.
Stroke Club committee member and treasurer John Angus said: “The club had been looking for almost 18 months for a suitable vehicle to enhance our scope of operations and to safely convey all our members and close family together for group outings.
“We initially looked at an Optare Solo but subsequently realised a larger bus was needed. This bus has a kneeling facility, a ramp attachment and is flat-floored for two-thirds of its interior length to accommodate our wheelchair users.
“Although its size will limit us travelling down certain town roads, it’s an exciting development for us.”
