CHARLIE Bicknell, described by ‘The Sunday Times’ as ‘the kind of girl who makes men loosen their ties and women shorten their skirts’, is coming to Appley Pavilion on Saturday (October 14).

Her performance ‘Fallen Angel’ is said to brilliantly combine laughter, pathos, outrage and dark and brilliant songs with anarchy, wit and comic flair. Charlie’s unique cabaret act, spiced with raunch and burlesque, would make a bishop kick a hole in a stained glass window.

Her repertoire includes songs from Tim Minchin to Meatloaf, Jacques Brel to Bond, and Dresden Dolls to darkly humorous originals. ‘The Observer’ describes Charlie as ‘a one-woman weapon of mass distraction’.

Appley Pavilion Committee is hosting the evening with Ashbrittle Arts. Tickets are available from Avril Silk on 01823 672131 – [email protected] – and cost £8, children 14-plus £5.) The show starts at 7.30pm and a bar will be on offer.
