ONCE again, Wiveliscombe Flower Show was blessed with glorious sunshine which echoed the spectacular display of home grown produce, hand crafted crafts and home baked delights.
The show was held at Kingsmead School and was opened by Sue Farrington, who welcomed all to the event.
Despite a challenging growing season, the produce on display were to their usual high standard.
As always, the crafters and bakers of Wiveliscombe and surrounding areas, mesmerised the visitors with the vast array of talent on show. Visitors, hopefully, went away feeling inspired to exhibit their own talents next year.
Along with the competition displays, there were stalls showcasing local producers, Wiveliscombe first responders, classic cars, and the ever popular miniature railway display.
The Society Challenge Cup for the best exhibit in the whole show was won by Brenda Horton.
The Colin Pearce Memorial Cup for her contribution to the Flower Show was won by Lulu Milton.
The W T Memorial Cup for best exhibit in show was won by Ronald Symons.
Wiveliscombe Town Band entertained those enjoying refreshments with music from the big screen. All combined, this was certainly a show which left people smiling and feeling inspired.
The Horticultural Society would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who give their help and support, not just on the day of the show, but throughout the whole year. Without this support, it would not be able to continue to run this much loved show.
Wiveliscombe Horticultural Society is currently looking for more committee members. If you feel like this is something you would be interested in, contact, [email protected], to find out more information.
