WELLINGTON Pantomime Group is putting the finishing touches to its production of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz with just a week to go before Dorothy and Toto set out along the Yellow Brick Road.
Costumes have been fitted, the set is built, the props are ready and waiting – and the box office is doing great guns. The Saturday matinee is all but sold out and several other performances are getting very full by the day.
This is the group’s 41st production and the enthusiasm shows no sign of abating.
A pantomime spokesman said: “This is very much a show produced by teamwork – and a large team come to that.
“However, none of the work is worthwhile until an audience is present – so we hope to sell as many seats as possible.
“Best availability is on the Wednesday and Thursday (January 27 and 28) both at 7.30pm. So get in touch with the box office as soon as possible to ensure you don’t miss the chance of supporting this important local group and watching a great fun show.”
The pantomime is suitable for the whole family and runs at the Wellesley Theatre from January 27-31. The box office is open on 0844 997 9000 at www.ticketsource.co.uk/wellingtonartscentre and also at Nurtured by Nature in South Street Wellington.
