POLICE were called to a house in Churchfields, Wellington on Friday following reports that a man had killed his wife.

Officers found the body of Margaret Beardon, 78 at 21, Churchfields.

Malcolm Beardon, 79, of the same address, was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into custody. His is due to appear at Taunton Deane Magistrates' Court this morning.
