PENSIONER Maureen Heald-Gledhill, of Blackmoor Road, Wellington, was planning to fall from a great height in aid of a cause close to her heart on Saturday.
But unfortunately Maureen, 72, has recently broken her arm and has had to put her planned tandem parachute jump from 10,000 feet in aid of the MS Trust at Dunkeswell Airfield back to Saturday, September 3.
Maureen was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis four decades ago and the charity – which has the motto ‘we help you to help yourself’ – advocates an exercise and diet regime which she says has helped her.
Maureen, who has never jumped before, said: “If I don’t do it now, I’m never going to do it. I have a fundraising target of £5,000 – anything over would be a bonus.”
Anyone who would like to back Maureen’s jump and her charity can contact her on 01823 662917 or the MS Trust on 01462 476707.
