PETANQUE players in Wellington, who have just won a best loser’s prize at Exeter Isca centre, are trying to form a new club.

Marion Jones said: “We would like to welcome any age group to join the club based at the rear of the sports centre.

“Please ask for more details from either myself, [email protected], or come visit us on Tuesday afternoon to try Pétanque for yourselves.

“It’s fun, the people are friendly, we have a coach, with some spare boules if you wish to try, or bring your own if you have them.”
