THE Paddocks Nursery and Pre-School in Wiveliscombe has received thousands of pounds from town pharmacy Day Lewis after a summer of fundraising.

The pharmacy raises money each year for one national and one local cause and match funds the amount raised in store.

Money was coined in through a charity fete in The Square, bingo, cake sale and raffles.

Some £3,425.74 has been given to the pre-school which has been used to give the nursery and reception area a much-needed makeover and to buy Kindle reading devices for staff to access Tapestry, the children’s learning journey resource.

It will also be used to buy more equipment for the children to use.
