Nynehead Parish Council held a meeting, managed within Government-produced Covid-19 secure guidelines, on Monday, August 17, in Nynehead Memorial Hall.

Members discussed two planning applications relating to Nynehead Court and Upcott, and reviewed expenditure for July, which was comfortably within budget. They also agreed that a slim version of The Nynehead Newsletter was now timely. This would be distributed to all households at the end of the month and would update residents about local amenities and Covid-related sources of help, as well as giving information about local activities and future events.

The next important local event is the annual parish footpath walk. The date for this had to be changed and will now take place on Sunday, September 20, departing from Nynehead Memorial Hall at 2pm. Everyone, including children and dogs of all ages and sizes, is welcome and it is expected that the walk will last about one-and-a-half hours. The footpaths around Nynehead are in good condition and have been well used. However, walkers are reminded to clear up after their dogs and to take home any litter.

In her police report, PCSO Henderson flagged up the theft of two electric generator/fencer units stolen from a location off Weacombe Road, West Quantoxhead, between July 27-28. The units were a Hotline Super and a Rutland ESB57. Anyone with information should call 101 and quote 5220169050.

No parish council meeting will be held in September – the next meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 19, at Nynehead Memorial Hall and will start at 7.30pm. The council exists to serve the needs of the community and residents are encouraged to share ideas, voice concerns or suggest initiatives by contacting the clerk, Judy Jones. E-mail [email protected]
