THE 10 Parishes Festival returns next month with nine days of visual and performing arts.

The festival guide designed by Aga Karmolinska from Bathealton, one of the artists taking part, was launched in Wiveliscombe this week.

The theme this year is Reuse and Recycle, a subject artists can choose to follow in creating new works.

The festival’s patron, Rosie Boycott, summarises in the festival guide how the theme has captured the participants’ imagination.

Jenni Dutton will lead in the creation of a huge plastic-bag-lady that will head the Carnival Parade as part of Market Day on Sunday, September 8.

Festival director Pauline Homeshaw said: “We have more than 60 artists exhibiting this year throughout the ten parishes, as well as quality live music performances and community events.

“The last festival in 2017 raised more than £45,000 for participants, the highest level seen in the 16 years since it was founded in 2003.”

Details of participants can be seen online at www.10parishesfestival.org.uk and in the guide distributed to many local outlets over the next two weeks.

The festival runs from Saturday, September 7, to Sunday, Sept-

ember 15.
