Police officers from the Wellington Beat Team have been out in force at the town’s Pop-Up shop in Fore Street this week.
The Police Mounted Branch will be visiting tomorrow (Saturday), along with a drugs bus, providing education around drugs for families – and including an escape room.
Officers said the community engagement event, postponed because of the Covid-19 crisis from earlier in the year, had been very successful and something they would look at doing again.
Representatives of the Home Safe and Rural Beat teams, and Neighbourhood Watch have been at the Pop-Up Shop, and free security bike marking has been on offer.
Crime prevention advice has been available and youngsters have also been able to obtain road safety information and take part in a road safety competition.
