Christmas at the Wellesley returns with festive talent showcaseHallowe’en on October 31 and Bonfire Night on November 5, and the days around those events, are traditionally busy times for police with an increase in reported anti-social behaviour.
Sgt Dan Bishop told members of Wellington Town Council last week – via the Zoom conferencing platform – that incidents of anti-social behaviour in the past month were ‘extremely low’.
But local police officers are not resting on their laurels and know that problems could be just around the corner.
“Hallowe’en and Bonfire Night are coming up and we will be increasing patrols around the town of known hotspots,” he told councillors.
